inner west collective
impact initiative
BACKGROUND
In February 2015, a Community Partnership Planning Forum was hosted by the Department for Education and Child Development Inner West Partnership to identify joint community actions to improve the health, wellbeing and educational outcomes for children and young people in the Inner West of Adelaide.
A community plan with population level indicators to measure outcomes was developed. This forum was held as a listed strategy of the Inner West Education Partnership Planning – Performance Accountability Plan 3 — June 2014..
THE INNER WEST COMMITTEE
A group of participants at the forum formed a committee to capture the momentum of the forum and to progress a collective impact initiative in the Inner West. The purpose of the Inner West Committee is to provide strategic direction and input to the initiative. The Committee acknowledges the substantial role that data plays in informing the initiative and endorses the development and ongoing analysis of an appropriate data set.
Membership is open and new members can join at any time. However, members must commit to remaining on the committee for at least 12 months and to take an active role in pursuing the purpose and priorities of the committee.
THE INNER WEST STEERING GROUP
The Inner West Committee established a steering group to:
- coordinate regular meetings and activities of the committee and associated working groups
- undertake actions as agreed by the committee to continue the ongoing development and achievement of the community plan
- ensure the initiative maintains the integrity of the collective impact framework
- ensure the documentation and storage of the narrative of the initiative.
- establish and analyse an appropriate set of data and to provide regular data reports to the committee
- make recommendations to the committee in respect of the establishment of working groups to progress the priorities of the initiative.
INNER WEST WORKING GROUPS
The Inner West Steering Group recommends the creation of working groups in order to progress the priorities within the community plan. These are action focused, outcomes based groups that are guided and led by the genuine voice of children, young people, and adults. Each working group is responsible for maintaining a RBA Performance Level Plan for their work.
